Ugghhh, I went so long without a binge :(
But I ate a lot of chocolate today. The good news is that I really do not feel defeated or depressed, just a little sad/anxious. I remember when I would be in angry, angry tears because of this. Instead, I am realizing I have gone 2 - 3 weeks without a binge, and so one day in that period of time is a pretty damn big improvement.
I am going to go running Saturday and Sunday, like normal, and I may even do some weight training too. This is not a road block or stopping point, it is just a quick stop light, that is already back to green. :)
HERE IS A WORKOUT TIP FOR ARMS:
I have started making a rule that if I go into the kitchen for ANYTHING, I need to do 10 “push ups” against the counter. If I am standing in there, waiting for something to cook, continue to do sets of 10 every minute or so until it is ready. These aren’t difficult, but in time, they add up! My chest and triceps are pretty sore. :)
I am finally officially below 140 lbs. for the first time in YEARS!
This has always be the number that I had such a hard time getting past, but I DID IT! I AM 139!
Today is my day off from work, and I am going to enjoy the morning and go for a run. :D
I feel so tired all the time for the firs time in a while…
New work schedule, and it is starting to kick my ass as I adjust. Morning time I am fine, but I’m so sleepy by the end. I am working 4 10 hour days… Thursday and weekends will be my days off. Eesh, I hope I adjust soon.
It is really throwing off my meal times, too. :(
Right now, I normally would go to the gym but I am exhausted, headachey, and blahblah excuses. Tomorrow is gym day for sure, though, which is kind of nice because my legs shouldn’t be sore anymore from running Sat/Sun.
Hi my blog is boring as shit.
Too hot for 30 Day Shred/running?? :(
So I was going to start the 30 Day Shred yesterday but oh. my. god. it has been so hot here. We had record highs, and today is about the same. My apartment has been scorching (we have a tiny window AC unit, but I don’t have the money to have it blasting)… like, mid to upper 80s in the house.
I need to just forget the excuses and start doing the workouts, with or without crazy amounts of heat. Worst case is I sweat like a pig, drink a ton of water and take a cold shower after, right??
Honestly, I’m more sad that it is too hot for me to run outside until I get new running clothes. I am finally comfortable with the idea of wearing knee-length running pants, or maybe even (GASP) shorts and a tank top. I have only worn shorts in public about 3 times my entire life, so this is significant.
What are your fav places to shop for affordable running gear? :)
My work announced our summer party is at a water park - June 30th
…and I think I’m going to work my ass off and wear a bikini for the first time in my entire life.
Today’s run: 3.09 mi route in Salt Lake City, UT - - Route Mapped on #MapMyRUN
Went on another 3.1 mile run today and it only took me 31 minutes!
Felt goooooood, even though my quads are sore.
Also, mapmyrun.com is amazing. It seems much more accurate on how many cals you’re burning on your run than MFP.
I’m going to start posting my running routes from it (lolol don’t stalk me plz kthnxbai).
I have a list of things not allowed in my house, and it makes all the difference. :)
Yay healthy choices and moderation!
Last week, I told my fiance that we could go out to eat anywhere he wanted today. I don’t go out to eat with him anymore, but I was getting paid this weekend and I wanted to have a bit of a celebration for doing my 5k. Wellll.. he picked Olive Garden. Kinda bleh, and filled with refined carbs.
BUT! I went, had water, and 1/2 a breadstick. No salad or soup, and I ordered the linguini with marinara sauce. I did eat all of it, but tried to just tell myself I need to let loose every now and then so I don’t become obsessed with perfection.
We went for a walk/threw around the frisbee a bit afterwards to help digest, and then i went and looked up the cal info. To my surprise, even after tracking the dinner and breadstick, I have about 70 cals left for the day! I am under on fat, and not very far over carbs, either! YAY!! This means I did eat back all my exercise calories form the 5k, but that isn’t really a bad thing.
Moral of the story: Make healthy choices every opportunity (or at least most!) you get, and things will be OK. :)
I finished my 5k!
If you think that isn’t a big deal, then stfu. I trained at a 12 min mile, and was really impressed with myself that I finished right at 37 minutes, even though there was an incline on the course.Nice, steady pace even though it was so hard not to leave the gate faster.
It was so much fun! I came home and signed up for another 5k in May, but I’ll probably end up doing one almost every weekend this summer. There are a lot worse things I could spend $20 a weekend on. ;D
Now that I have that goal finished, I need to start tackling the 30 Day Shred! Pretty intimidated, won’t lie.
